What Does The Bible Say Happens After You Die?
Every day, the world records thousands of deaths. Both old and young, healthy ad unhealthy.
Those who has left this place for me and you and gone into eternity.
Either they made it to heaven, or they made it to hell. That’s their judgement with God. Also read: The Reformed Pastor
That’s how life was made. And we cant counter it. As believers, we could only ask what the bible say happens after you die?
What happens the moment after you die? The very last seconds you took your last breathe, your soul departs from the body and await the resurrection day.
Those who made it in Christ Jesus will be carried into the presence of the Lord. They will be comforted. They have left the cruel world to be with the Lord.
While those whose garment are filthy will awaits in hell for the judgement day. “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments…
And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.”
What Happens After You Die?
~ Luke 16:23a-24 “Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” ~ Ecclesiastes 12:7
Even as we grieve and mourn those who have departed, maybe our loved ones. Yet, we do not mourn like those without hope.
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” ~ 1 Thessalonians 4:14, 17-18 While the unbeliever’s body remains resting, who can fathom the torments he is experiencing?!
His spirit screams! “Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming…” ~ Isaiah 14:9a
Unprepared is he to meet God!
Although he cries in his torment, his prayer offers no comfort whatsoever, for a great gulf is fixed where no one can pass to the other side.
Alone he is left in his misery. Alone in his memories. The flame of hope forever extinguished of seeing his loved ones again.
On the contrary, the death of a saint is welcomed with fruits of joy and songs of glory into the heaven. And the soul is escorted by the angels into the presence of God.
Where he would be comforted day and night. He has fought the war on earth and made it to heaven where there is no more worries or burdens.
Although, we will miss them greatly on earth, but we can meet them again if we only walk in the Lord and obey His law.
Dear Soul,
Are you convinced that if you die today, you will be with the Lord in heaven? Death of a believer is a doorway to eternal glory.
Those who slept in the Lord will be raise on the last day to be with their loved ones who never fainted on the journey.
Those you have waved the last goodbye in the grave, if you walk in the Lord, you shall meet them again and you shall part no more.
If you don’t believe in Christ and don’t follow His teachings. You’re heading to hell and you cant escape it in the grave. But now you are alive.
The Scripture says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” ~ Romans 3:23 Soul, That Includes You And Me.
If only we could rethink and see how far we have fallen away from Christ. And felt sorry for who we are and seek for the forgiveness of sin and accept Jesus as our Lord and personal Savior.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” ~ Romans 10:9
Be concerned about turning a new leaf in christ jesus before its too late. Repentance is not in
the grave.
Today, if you have misstepped in Christ jesus, you can be cleansed again. But you must access Him as your Lord.
You must ask for the forgiveness of sins and put your trust in God. There is only one way we can make heaven. And that’s through Jesus Christ.
What happens to your soul when you die?
There is this belief amongst many Christians that when someone dies, his soul leaves his body to live till eternity. They see the soul as an immortal entity.
But, what does the bible say? Looking at the creation of man, the Bible says, “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul”
(Genesis 2:7, KJV).
Other Bible translations say, “. . . and man became a living being” (NKJV; NIV). During creation, God did not command a soul into the body of man.
He made the man from dust and breathe in him a living-giving spirit. And there become a soul or a watchman of the body.
So, when the watchman departs the body, the breath of life has departed and the body will go back to its prior state, a dust without breathe.
That’s what the Bible says. “The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it” (Ecclesiastes 12:7, NIV).
Souls are separate entities gives account of the works of our body after we have died.
That’s to say we carry immortality in us. However, the scripture made us to understand that man is mortal.
Only God is immortal (read 1 Timothy 6:15, 16). Paul says that the righteous “seek for glory, honor, and immortality” (Romans 2:7).
If we had immortal souls, why would the righteous seek after something they already have?
Is there life after death?
Though we may die physical death, but Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live” (John 11:25). We will become immortal entity when Jesus comes again (see 1 Corinthians 15:51-54).
The Bible made us to understand that even though we have died, both the righteous and the wicked shall be raised to life in one of two resurrections.
The righteous will be raised from their death when jesus comes.
“For the Lord”
Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first” (1 Thessalonians 4:16, NKJV).
According to this verse, from this verse, we can say that the righteous do not transcend to heaven, rather, their soul remain asleep till the second coming of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 15:50-57).
After the raising of the righteous, the wicked shall be raised.
Jesus said, “Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—
those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation” (John 5:28, 29, NKJV).
The scripture did not state that those who die in righteousness will go to heaven directly neither shall those who die in sin perish in hell straight. Neither jesus nor his apostle preached so.
What Happens After You Die?
After Jesus had spoken to His disciples and was about to leave, He did not say to His disciples that he would come to them.
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:1-3, NKJV).
On the second coming of Christ, those who had died shall be raised in His glory. “For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible …
So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written:
‘Death is swallowed up in victory’” (1 Corinthians 15:52, 54). The last sensation was the pang of death, the last thought, that they were falling beneath the power of the grave.
But then, imagine, when they arise from the tomb to the shout, “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” (1 Corinthians 15:55).
